A day out of Forest Gate! First to the wilds of Richmond to meet my lovely friend Lucy, where the boys could run free in a different space with their friend Seth. So much space and so many deer, just walking around as if nothing’s changed at all.

The deer are incredibly tame from having so many visitors up close I guess but I had to remind the boys not to go too close as it’s also breeding season and the expectant or nursing mother’s will be going into protection mode. We spotted red deer and fallow deer, still in their shaggy winter coats; looking forward to seeing them in their shinier, smoother suits next time we rendezvous here.

Although we didn’t stay for very long – two hours tops as it was still cold – it was long enough to feel a sense of escapism and drink in a new horizon. So looking forward to expanding my horizons even further soon. Better get that driving practice in…
