Thank you Hugo Rittson Thomas and your forthcoming visual feast of a book Wildflowers for the Queen (Wildflower Press, 2021), a captivating homage to Plantlife’s re-wilding initiative known as the Coronation Meadows.

In writing a book review for Countryfile (thank you also Countryfile; books and plants, my dream duo), my head is now a softly swaying wildflower meadow of tufted vetch, field scabious, great burnet and the most exquisite native orchids I must now go and seek out.

In a seemingly never-ending landscape of Minecraft, Nerf Guns, semi-professional refereeing and beans on toast, it has gratefully and restoratively re-wilded my mind. Summer fields, we will run through you once more.

Out on 4 Feb; heartily recommend to flower lovers, conservationists, royalists and artists alike.
